The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funds free trade training for millions of eligible adults. Most people who qualify never find out. We'll help you determine if you're eligible.
You may qualify if you fall into one or more of these categories
Recently laid off, received a layoff notice, or lost a job through no fault of your own. Includes plant closures and company downsizing.
Adults with income at or below state poverty guidelines may qualify for Adult WIOA funding regardless of employment status.
Veterans, transitioning service members, and eligible spouses may receive priority access to WIOA services and training funds.
Individuals with prior justice involvement may qualify for Reentry Employment Opportunities (REO) program funding.
Seasonal agricultural workers and migrant farmworkers may qualify through the National Farmworker Jobs Program.
Adults receiving TANF or other public assistance may qualify for WIOA Adult funding to support career pathway training.
Depending on your local workforce board and eligibility, WIOA may fund:

The process is simpler than most people think
Tell us your location, background, and trade interest. We'll show you WIOA-approved programs in your area and connect you with your local American Job Center.
Find your nearest AJC at careeronestop.org. Bring your ID, Social Security card, and proof of layoff or income if applicable. The intake process is free.
A workforce case manager will review your situation and determine your WIOA eligibility. This typically takes 1–2 appointments.
Choose from the ETPL (Eligible Training Provider List) — which includes many programs listed on AdultSkilledTrades.com. Your ITA (Individual Training Account) pays the provider directly.
Your workforce case manager will stay connected throughout training and assist with job placement when you complete the program.
